BENED Discourse Community Guidelines
Last Updated: March 13, 2026
Welcome to the BENED community! These guidelines help us maintain a productive, respectful, and inclusive environment for all members.
Be Respectful
- Treat every member with dignity and respect, even when you disagree
- Attack ideas, not people. No personal attacks, name-calling, or harassment
- Respect different backgrounds, perspectives, and experience levels
- Use inclusive language and be mindful of cultural differences
Be Constructive
- Contribute to discussions with thoughtful, relevant responses
- Share knowledge generously — we're all here to learn and grow
- Ask questions openly; there are no stupid questions
- Provide context and detail when asking for help
- Credit sources and give attribution when sharing others' work
Stay On Topic
- Post in the appropriate category
- Keep discussions focused on the thread topic
- Start a new topic for new discussions rather than hijacking existing threads
- Use descriptive titles that accurately reflect your post content
No Spam or Self-Promotion
- No unsolicited advertising, referral links, or affiliate spam
- Share your own projects thoughtfully — contribute to the community, don't just promote
- No repetitive posts or flooding
Privacy and Safety
- Never share other people's personal information without their explicit consent
- Protect your own privacy — don't post sensitive personal details publicly
- Report any suspicious activity or threats immediately
- No doxxing, stalking, or targeting of individuals
Content Standards
- No illegal content of any kind
- No NSFW, explicit, or graphic content
- No copyrighted material posted without permission
- No misinformation presented as fact — cite your sources
Moderation
- Moderator decisions are final, but can be appealed to administrators
- If you see a problem, use the flag button — don't engage with trolls
- Consequences follow a progressive model: warning → temporary suspension → permanent ban
- Severe violations (threats, illegal content) result in immediate permanent bans
